Java + theme park flair: from 21 to 23 March 2023, the Java community will once again gather at Phantasialand Brühl for JavaLand 2023!

The programme is packed with lectures, community activities, an accompanying exhibition, workshops and, of course, opportunities for networking. On the third day of the conference, the participants will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge during a training day.

Our Richard Fichtner will also be in attendance again, and this year he will be co-hosting two talks – each with a co-speaker.

This Session will be held as a moderated BoF ("Birds of a Feather"), so there is no set agenda and instead an open discussion can take place.

• Developer Productivity Engineering (DPE). What is this? pro·duc·tiv·i·ty as defined by the dictionary, is “the effectiveness of productive effort, especially in industry, as measured in terms of the rate of output per unit of input”. As software engineers, we are often unaware that we could be doing things in a better way. We are used to the amount of time that things like test and feedback cycles take and perceive these as normal. DPE is a vendor, programming language, tool, and framework neutral concept. Its goal is to reduce the interruptions to the flow state and frustrations with long build cycles, which lead to developer joy and huge cost savings in things like burnout and time spent in CI.
