Wow – a new attendance record at JCON 2022: with more than 2600 registered developers from all over the world, the record of the previous year could be broken once again!
From September 20 to 23, JCON was again the most important conference of the year for the Java developer community and XDEV is proud to be in the middle of the action as co-organizer and main sponsor.
The Java conference was again held as an online-only event, but the audience could once again connect from all corners of the globe and enjoy a full program over four days:
2600+ participants from 6 continents and 80+ countries
5 parallel livestreams
8 main topics
The speakers and the range of topics were again diverse and top-class. The focus in 2022 was primarily on the topics of Java Cloud-Native and Microservices. Experienced freelancers as well as employees of world-renowned companies - such as IBM, Oracle, GraalVM, Red Hat, Microsoft and Google - were once again recruited for the presentations.
However, JCON 2022 was not only very informative, but also entertaining. Two funny anecdotes, among others, will be remembered: a speaker from Mexico, for example, had to improvise when the complete power supply in his street failed during his talk. And another speaker was connected directly from the Swedish forest.
Four keynotes are now available on the JCON website. More sessions to watch will follow bit by bit.
- Adam Bien: Thinking About Persistence for Serverless Java
- Josh Long: Kubernetes Native Java
- Markus Kett: Warp 36 Java In Memory Data Processing Cluster
- Justin Reock: Developer Productivity Engineering – The Next Big Thing in Software Development
The XDEV team was able to follow the sessions in our office in specially set up public viewing areas and with the best catering.
Many thanks to all who made JCON 2022 possible! We had a blast. See you next year! Maybe even twice, because: in the summer of 2023, the JCON will also take place again as an on-site event in Germany as JCON-PEOPLE.
