Invitation to the 1st "DCN Crafts Day

On Friday, April 28, 2023, Weiden will become the capital of software development: The Digital Craftsmanship Nordoberpfalz (DCN) network – to which XDEV belongs – invites to the first "Digital Crafts Day" – a conference day for networking, exchange and inspiration! Instead of boring lectures, exciting talks, delicious food and discussions await the participants.

The location is the OTH campus in Weiden and the program is really diverse. For example, full-stack software architect Daniel Murrmann's talk "Agile Program Inception" is all about a sensible, agile start to development. Martina Baumer, developer for warehouse logistics software, talks about work-life balance in her presentation "Lead Developer - Part-Time?". And Prof. Dr. Ulrich Schäfer from the OTH Amberg-Weiden will talk about ChatGPT and programming with language models. Adam Bien, Java Champion and JavaOne Rockstar, will conclude with his presentation "To Cloud Or Not To Cloud - What Is The Architectural Difference?".

The entire day's program with all presentations and the link to the tickets can be found here.

Recently, companies in the DCN network, including XDEV, have already handed over a donation in the form of DCN hoodies made of high-quality organic cotton. The speakers can then look forward to these sweaters as a guest gift.

Who/what is DCN exactly?

At Digital Craftsmanship Nordoberpfalz everything revolves around modern software development and digitization, not only around our area of expertise Java. Our Richard is part of the DCN core team of the network, which regularly organizes lecture and discussion evenings on current or desired topics. The DCN is supported by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and is a wonderful opportunity for the digital scene and software forges in the entire northern Upper Palatinate to network across companies and exchange professional ideas.
