Our Giuseppe is not only a software developer and Java fan, but also a genuine firefighter. He recently visited the state firefighting school in Würzburg for an advanced training course.
There, a fire extinguishing training facility (fire house for short) is available in order to be able to train behavior in the event of a fire as realistically and tactically as possible.
In this gas-fired fire house, which is modeled on a residential building, the instructors for the course "Behavioral Training in the Case of Fire" can ignite six different fire scenes at the push of a button. This allows the firefighters to practice and improve their skills and team communication under real conditions - fire, heat, smoke and the unfamiliar environment. For this purpose, various exercises are run through. Firefighting, rescuing people, dealing with adrenaline and stress - all this in full respiratory protection equipment.
After each exercise, the procedure (and any incorrect behavior) is discussed at length with the instructors. This new experience and knowledge are effectively helping that the next real operation can be safer.
We are happy and proud to have such a dedicated member of our team in Giuseppe. Respect!
