XDEV at DEVNEXUS 2025: Java and IoT - A look into the connected future

From March 4 to 6, 2025, the renowned DEVNEXUS conference – one of the most important international events for Java developers and IT professionals – will once again take place in Atlanta, Georgia. XDEV will return with another exciting talk this year.

On March 6 at 3:45 pm (local time), XDEV CEO Richard Fichtner will be speaking on the topic of “Java and the Internet of Things” together with the well-known author and professor Barry Burd. The session will highlight how Java is being used in the world of IoT (Internet of Things) to implement real-world use cases and develop innovative solutions.

The talk is aimed at developers and IT architects who want to better understand the synergies between Java and IoT technologies. Richard Fichtner and Barry Burd bring concentrated expertise and practical insights to show how networked devices can be efficiently programmed and controlled using Java.

Barry Burd, author of the well-known book “Java For Dummies”, brings his academic experience and passion for comprehensible knowledge transfer to the lecture. Together with Richard Fichtner, who is an experienced developer and technical innovator at XDEV, the result is a unique team that conveys complex topics in a tangible and inspiring way.
