Premiere in the US: JCON @ IBM TechXchange 2025

This year, the renowned Java conference JCON will take place for the first time in the United States – as part of IBM TechXchange 2025 from October 6–9 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. The event brings together Java enthusiasts, developers, and IT decision-makers from around the world.

Organization and Partners

As organizer of the Java User Group Oberpfalz, XDEV plays a key role in planning and executing the conference – in collaboration with JavaPro Magazine. Attendees can expect hands-on exchange, engaging presentations, and the opportunity to build international connections within the Java community.

The Orange County Convention Center in Orlando is one of the largest and most modern event venues in the United States. Its central location provides easy access to world-famous attractions, hotels, and restaurants. Whether participants are coming from the local area or from around the globe, the venue offers the perfect setting for international networking and practical knowledge sharing.

Talk by Richard Fichtner & Shane O'Rourke (IBM)

At the concurrent IBM TechXchange 2025, Richard Fichtner will again be speaking. Together with Shane O'Rourke, Program Director IBM Java Runtimes and AI, he will present the session: Empowering Humanity: How AI is Shaping a Brighter Future, in Java (Session No. 2886).

The session will take place on Thursday, October 8, 2025, from 8:00 – 9:00 AM EDT. Richard and Shane will demonstrate how to develop high-performance, scalable AI applications using Java, Quarkus, and LangChain4J. Using a digital reading assessment platform for the Bavarian Ministry of Education as an example, they will show how teachers can analyze text complexity, recommend personalized reading materials, and receive real-time feedback to enhance students’ reading skills.
