As part of a large-scale digitization project, XDEV collaborated with the University of Regensburg to co-develop an innovative reading assessment tool for elementary schools in Bavaria, which has been in use across the state since the 2024/2025 school year.
With BYLES, schools now have access to a digital, standardized diagnostic tool that helps teachers make students’ reading proficiency levels visible. From the very beginning, XDEV served as the technical implementation partner and developed a high-performance, scalable, and data privacy-compliant solution based on Java.
The close collaboration with the University of Regensburg and the Bavarian Ministry of Education demonstrates that when didactics, technology, and personal commitment come together, real value is created—for teachers, children, and the education system as a whole.
