When JCON Europe 2025 opens its doors in Cologne from May 12–15, it won’t just be a celebration of Java – it’ll also showcase a little piece of XDEV. Why? Because the official JCON Scheduler was developed by us.
As a long-standing co-organizer of JCON, we set out to take the conference experience to the next level. That’s why we built a web app that goes far beyond simply displaying the program: it becomes your personal assistant for the entire JCON experience.
What features does the scheduler offer?
The JCON Scheduler is more than a traditional session tool – it’s the central hub for planning, interaction, and feedback:
- Session Overview: Keep track of the full JCON Europe 2025 program – with search and filter options by topic, speaker, or category.
- Personal Agenda: Logged in? Then you can mark your favorite sessions and create your own customized schedule.
- Speaker & Sponsor Overview: Always visible on the left – so you’ll always know who’s involved.
- 1:1 Meetings: A brand-new feature – registered speakers and sponsor representatives offer short, exclusive 15-minute slots. Perfect for deep dives, networking, or focused conversations in a more private setting.
- Session Feedback: After the talk is before the feedback – help the conference team and speakers get even better.
- Responsive: The scheduler naturally also works on your smartphones – perfect for quick overviews or on-the-fly planning while you're at JCON.

The Scheduler is a true passion project from us at XDEV. From concept to go-live – everything was done in-house. Technologically, the scheduler is built with Vaadin, a powerful framework for modern web applications in Java that we've been using for many years. And yes, we proudly added our logo. Not out of vanity, but because we’re proud to be part of this community.
