At XDEV, it’s not always just about Java, architecture decisions, and clean deployments. Every now and then, it’s also about dice, character sheets, and whether a critical hit lands at exactly the right moment.
Recently, a few people from the XDEV team — some even in proper costume — got together for a new Dungeons & Dragons session. At the center was a brave adventuring party of Leshys, plant-like beings on a mission to uncover why members of their community had gone missing.
The party, made up of a fighter, bard, druid, and rogue, left their familiar forest behind and set out to follow the trail into the strange world of humans. Roleplay, tactical decisions, and both lucky and unlucky rolls shaped the first four hours of the adventure. The gamemaster kept everyone going with snacks and pizza. Whether the group can find and rescue their missing friends in time will be revealed in the next session!
Nerd culture is something XDEV enjoys celebrating — with genuine enthusiasm. Whether it’s LAN parties (most recently for Halloween) or an analog D&D round like this: these evenings don’t come from a teambuilding plan, but from real interest. And you can feel that in how people work together.
